Rei dos Queijos

For cheese lovers, this is one of the reference stores in Ponta Delgada. On display, visitors can find 42 different types of Azorean cheese.

Founded almost 40 years ago, it started out as a small grocery store, but the concept evolved into a store specially dedicated to cheese as the main product. As a result, the company launched its own cheese, named after the store, which is matured for 7 to 18 months and is highly appreciated for its flavor. To go along with it you can also buy jams and preserves for all tastes.

The space is open Monday through Thursday from 08am to 6:30pm, Friday from 7am to 7pm, and Saturday from 7am to 5pm. Closed on Sundays.
