Parque Terra Nostra

Internationally renowned and often described as Europe’s most spectacular gardens, Terra Nostra Park can be found on São Miguel Island. The variety of activities one can experience here is vast; gardens, lush avenues, grottoes, serpentine trails and numerous streams and ponds are all within walking distance.

Terra Nostra Park has a long and rich history, with the first building being commissioned and constructed by the United States Consulate in 1975. The building was designated as the Summer Home for Thomas Hickling and became known as Yankee Hall.

Without a doubt, a trip to Terra Nostra Botanical Gardens would not be complete without seeing the geothermal pool. Rich in minerals, the spring water stay at a perfect temperature of between 35-40 degrees Celsius year round. The combination of these elements inspires a feeling of relaxation, not found in many locations around the world.
