Lagoa das Empadadas

Located near the Lagoa das Sete Cidades, these lakes are an authentic treasure that nature has to offer. This set of small lakes lies between two volcanic craters and is surrounded by a beautiful forest.

Spend the day exploring the forest or having a picnic by the water. Bring some extra bread since there are many friendly ducks that live in this lake and they always enjoy a small snack from the passing travellers.

If you arrive early in the morning, you can enjoy this wonderful area of São Miguel with no one around you. The land can be explored on foot or by vehicle, however make sure that your vehicle is 4x4 before you make the road.

A beautiful National Park that should be appreciated by all who are walking in this area.
