Ponta da Madrugada

One of the best viewpoints São Miguel has to offer is Ponta da Madrugada. It is located on the eastern side of the beautiful island, right on the top of a beautiful cliff; abundant with flora.

The Ponta da Madrugada view point offers a breath-taking panorama view of the green cliffs of São Miguel powering over the vast Atlantic Ocean. Sunrises are breath-taking from this spot and should be seen by all who pass by. There are picnic and barbecue facilities available at Ponta da Madrugada for enjoyable picnicking or outside cooking.

This area is well known for their manicured gardens and wide variety of flora. If it just a quick stop or a picnic site to luncheon; this is a wonderful spot to do either. Known as the “Day-break side” of the island Ponta da Madrugada should be enjoyed and appreciated at the break of dawn.
