Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Paz

The Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Paz is on the top of Nossa Senhora da Paz hill, offering beautiful views of Vila Franca do Campo and making it one of the most privileged viewpoints in the village and surrounding area.

The current temple dates from the 18th century and will have been built on an earlier one dating from the 16th century, erected by the population in honor of the virgin.

The Ermida da Senhora da Paz is accessible by climbing a staircase with a hundred steps, a pleasant walk that is easily carried out. Located on the hills overlooking the beautiful island, the sanctuary and its wonderful views can be enjoyed by the whole family, as this is not only a cultural space but also a place where there are several lakes and wells for swimming.
